Neymar reflected further on his hat-trick against Celtic and admitted that the big win for Barcelona was ‘very welcome’.
Inspired by the Brazilian and his three goals, Barca ran out 6-1 winners in Champions League Group H’s closing round of games, to comfortably secure top spot and a seeding for the Last 16.
“This has been a happy night for me and for the team because of the result we've managed to produce,” considered Neymar afterwards to UEFA’s official website.
“It was important to me to get off the mark as a goalscorer in the Champions League, and of course it's a fantastic feeling to do it with a hat-trick.
“We are very pleased to finish top of the group because that was our objective right from the outset. Now we must continue playing in this style if we can.
“Two defeats in a row for us, in the Champions League and the League, meant a big win was very welcome.
“Who we play now doesn't matter to me – we'll just treat the challenge with respect and play to win.”
