Ancelotti ‘satisfied’ despite draw

Carlo Ancelotti has claimed he was ‘satisfied’ with Real Madrid’s performance, despite drawing 0-0 with Olimpic Xativa.

Los Blancos could only bag a goalless draw in the first leg of their Copa del Rey clash on Saturday evening.

And the Coach has bemoaned the artificial pitch they played on last night.

“It was a tough pitch to play on, on a surface that we’re not used. It wasn’t a good game but I don’t think it was that bad,” he told a Press conference.

“I am satisfied. We tried to play football, especially in the second half, but it was not easy.

“There is no need to worry about not having scored. This team has no problem scoring, we have scored a lot of them.

“We defended well, playing with a good balance in the team and we will try to score in the next match.

“It is true that the artificial turf did not help us because we are not used to playing on it. We struggled in possession, but I think we had three clear chances to score.

“We did not have a good match but it was not a bad one.”

Ancelotti was then asked about rumours that Angel Di Maria will leave for Monaco in January.

“We have not spoken about that. He has not mentioned it. He is happy here and will be staying.”
