Adrian Lopez has acknowledged that right now Cristiano Ronaldo is the favourite to win the Ballon d’Or award in January.
Nonetheless, the Atletico Madrid striker insists he has no idea who will lift the trophy and stressed that it could be a closer run thing that people think.
“It’s very even and I don’t know who will win it. Nobody knows what will happen, but right now Cristiano is playing at a better level.
“[Lionel] Messi will always be Messi and he has done some very good things, while [Franck] Ribery is the one who has won most titles,” Adrian told AS.
Regarding his own club’s impressive 2013-14 campaign so far, the 25-year-old maintained it was because boss Diego Simeone has pressed all the right buttons since his arrival on the Atleti bench two years ago.
“He understands everyone very well and is a Coach who speaks to players individually, letting you know what he wants from you at all times.
“He also motivates the team and the players very well psychologically,” said Adrian.
