Iker Casillas says there is ‘no doubt’ that Real Madrid colleague Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world right now.
The goalkeeper was today attending a campaign against bullying in schools and took a few footballing questions, starting with who he felt was the best player in the game right now.
“There is a player now who is above the rest, who is in an exceptional state of form and deserves every form of praise. That player is Cristiano Ronaldo,” reflected Casillas in response.
“I think there is no doubt about it and he shows it game after game. That’s positive for Madrid because we hope that, as a result, within a few months we can fulfil our goals for this year.
“Does that include La Decima? We are working for it. We are preparing, but we have to be restrained. For whilst we are earning praise right now, praise can also weaken you.
“We will continue as usual and wait for the end of the season, because this is a young and ambitious team.
“I hope that we are able to win the European Cup, we have been waiting 11 years to do so, and another League and, why not, the Cup.”
