Gareth Bale has remarked on Real Madrid’s ‘character’ against Galatasaray and admits his free-kick scored was ‘one of the best goals of my career’.
The Welshman opened the scoring for Los Blancos in their eventual 4-1 Champions League group stage win over Gala on Wednesday night, which occurred in spite of Sergio Ramos’ early red card.
“We showed character and good team spirit when playing a man short,” Bale has told Madrid’s official website afterwards.
“There are no limits to what we can achieve in the competition. We have a good chance of winning the Champions League this year.
“I am happy about the match and the goal. I've been practicing free-kicks and was lucky that this one came off. It is one of the best goals of my career.”
