Darijo Srna has promised a Shakhtar Donetsk side prepared to press Real Sociedad for 90 minutes tomorrow evening.
The Ukrainians host La Real on the fifth matchday of the Champions League group stages with the Spanish in need of a win to maintain hopes of a better finish in Group A.
However, they will come up against a motivated and energetic Shakhtar, the hosts’ captain has indicated.
“I can promise that the team will give their all on the pitch tomorrow to win the match, which is very important for us, in the last home game this year,” stated Srna today to reporters.
“I think that our fans deserve the three points. Our team also deserved the three points against Bayer, but luck was not on our side.
“I would not confuse bad luck with football. That’s why football is so much interesting, because the one who is better does not always win.
“So I think that we deserved the three points against Bayer, played a good game, but something was still missing. A goal was missing, we are working on that.
“We should perform to even higher standards than in the game with Bayer, if we want to claim all three points tomorrow.
“I believe that from the opening minutes tomorrow, Shakhtar will play their game, attacking and pressing for 90 minutes, until we score a goal. That's all I can promise you.”
