Wolfsburg playmaker Diego has conceded that he would opt for a move to the Premier League over rejoining Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian midfielder spent the 2011-12 season on loan in the Spanish capital, but the 28-year-old has admitted that he knows about interest from England, and would go to the Premier League.
“I know there is interest from clubs in the Premier League,” he told The Sun. “I heard that Arsenal is one of them – but there is nothing official.
“I think they would be an ideal destination for me because of their style of play. Of course I would say yes to them.
“Southampton are also a great team with young talents like Adam Lallana. But again, there is nothing concrete.
“Atletico are still interested and it would be great to play with the again, but playing in England is also very attractive at this point in my career.”
