Ronaldo ‘fine’ after tests

Cristiano Ronaldo has been given the thumbs up after tests on his injured thigh muscle on Monday morning.

The Real Madrid star was forced to come off in the 5-0 win over Almeria at the weekend and spent 50 minutes at the Sanitas La Moraleja clinic in the Spanish capital this morning, where he underwent ‘imaging’ to discover the extent of the injury.

However, it was good news for both Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti and the player when Ronaldo emerged alongside club doctor Ximo Mas.

“I’m fine,” he told reporters.

Even so, Ronaldo will not be risked in Wednesday’s Champions League group game against Galatasaray to prevent any further damage.
