A FIFA agent claims Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ‘obsessed’ with signing Real Madrid pair Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane.
Francois Gallardo told Punta Pelota that Wenger wants to strengthen his squad at the Emirates in January and is targeting the French duo, even suggesting it is an obsession with him.
“Arsenal would like to strengthen in the winter and will go for Benzema and Varane. Karim is the darling of Wenger, but he is obsessed with them both.
“Benzema is the apple of Wenger’s eye and they will try and get him by any means possible,” maintained Gallardo.
However, he believes there is little chance of the Gunners being successful.
“Karim will obviously not leave in January. It is unfeasible. The other player he has in mind, Varane, is also unworkable.”
