Morata: Ronaldo is human too

Alvaro Morata has reflected that it is ‘natural’ for Cristiano Ronaldo ‘to be tired’ and that he is ‘only human’ after coming off for Real Madrid on Saturday.

On from his midweek exploits for Portugal, Ronaldo was withdrawn early into the second half of Madrid’s eventual 5-0 win at Almeria in Week 14.

Initial indications are that the player’s suspected hamstring discomfort is nothing serious, and his young striking teammate has mused it is only natural.

“After the international break, people return to their clubs tired and it is normal for the Coach to warn us about that,” reflected Morata post-match.

“Ronaldo’s injury? He is only home and it is nautral to be tired after the show he produced for Portugal.

“He’s the best player in the world but he also needs to break at some point.

“My goal? Whenever I go out on to the pitch I try to score and today I was lucky.”

Morata finished the scoring for Madrid on Saturday night with a neatly-taken scooped effort, after coming on as a substitute.
