FIFA President Sepp Blatter has reiterated his view that he believes Cristiano Ronaldo is a ‘commander’ on the football pitch.
The game’s governing body chief had told students at the Oxford Union over three weeks ago that he preferred Lionel Messi to the Real Madrid star, going on to outline the differences he perceives between the pair.
Following an audience with the Pope in Rome on Friday, the 77-year-old gave a Press conference and was unrepentant regarding his comments.
“I don’t regret anything. I’ve always said that Cristiano Ronaldo is an exceptional footballer and I still think the same. He is a commander on the field of play,” said Blatter.
