Real Madrid have confirmed that Fabio Coentrao has suffered a thigh injury, but have failed to offer further details.
The Portuguese international was believed to have suffered a grade I strain to his right thigh whilst on international duty this week.
Madrid have released a statement today confirming that he has indeed suffered ‘a muscle injury to the back of his right thigh’, but have not reported its severity or an expected recovery period.
It is believed that the issue will keep the left-back out of contention for this weekend’s trip to Almeria and that his future availability will be determined upon the injury’s evolution in the coming week.
