Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has cast doubt on whether he thinks Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world.
Portuguese international Ronaldo scored a hat-trick as his country pipped the Swedes in a play-off for next year’s World Cup in Brazil. Asked if he now considered the Real Madrid man the best on the planet, Ibra was somewhat cryptic in his reply.
“Is he the best in the world? Well, he’s amazing but…” he answered, before breaking into a grin.
“If you give Ronaldo three counter-attacks then he scores three goals. It was very disappointing but the better team won.
“I started to believe we could do it when we scored twice, but Portugal were superior.
“A World Cup without me will not be worth watching, so there will be no need to wait for it to arrive,” he told reporters.
