Germany boss Joachim Low has claimed that he is ‘optimistic’ that Sami Khedira will return in time for the World Cup.
The Real Madrid midfielder is out for the next six months following a cruciate ligament injury picked up in the Mannschaft’s 1-1 draw with Italy last Friday.
But the national team Coach has insisted that he is counting on the 27-year-old for Brazil next summer.
“If someone is able to return from such a bad injury, it is Sami,” he told a Press conference.
“He’s a fighter, so let’s see what happens. We have to be optimistic, just like him.”
