Alexis remaining grounded

Alexis Sanchez says that he is not getting carried away by recent form for Barcelona and Chile as: “when you do things badly, nobody remembers you.”

The forward is enjoying a strong start to the season and has carried club form at the Camp Nou over into his national side, netting both goals in Chile’s 2-0 win at Wembley on Friday.

Even so, he has made clear that he is not getting carried away, choosing to reflect on two difficult years previous in Barcelona.

“I still have my feet on the ground, because when you do things badly, nobody remembers you,” mused Alexis to reporters this week.

“I train game by game and just want to go on day by day. I am 24 and I have much to still improve.

“I want to continue having fund in the field and beyond that to win titles with Barcelona and do the best at the World Cup.”
