Alves ‘hurt’ by Barca critics

Dani Alves has admitted that it ‘hurts’ when critics say some Barcelona players are holding back because of the World Cup.

There have been naysayers suggesting that several members of the Blaugrana squad are waiting to peak in Brazil next summer.

And the defender has insisted that is nonsense, whilst also clearing up his contract situation at Camp Nou.

“It hurts when they talk crap saying we're more interested in the World Cup than in Barcelona,” he told Sport.

“My contract is until 2016, not until 2015, because there's an option for another year, based on some objectives, but I don’t think I’ll retire at Barca.

“Rotations? The more I play, the better I feel. I like to play every game. But you have accept the decision of the Coach.”
