Ruiz: Valencia have balls

Victor Ruiz has defended Miroslav Djukic’s decision to give the Valencia players a number of days off, as he determines that the team do have ‘balls’.

The Coach commented after the weekend’s disappointing home draw with Real Valladolid that the players must show they ‘have the balls’ if they are to play for the club.

Whilst commenting on the difficult start to the season for Los Che, defender Ruiz first took questions on the players having been granted two days of holiday this midweek as well as a further two to come at the weekend.

“We need to come back stronger for the next month, in which we face many games,” Ruiz reflected to reporters this afternoon.

“We are looking forward to playing again to return to winning ways and to continue to build our confidence.

“Djukic and his staff believe that we must take these days off and that’s it, there is nothing more to say.

“During the bad times is when you have to be more united, more together. Not only the players, but also the President and directors, so as to pull this off.

“The Coach? I see him as calm, doing his work and with ambition that we will head into our next run of games capable of pulling ourselves up the table.

“Do we have the balls? Yes and we will demonstrate so. In recent games we have conceded goals more easily, we have created little and conceded goals, so we have to rectify this.”
