Granada-owned striker Jona has reportedly attracted interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid Castilla, but he is unlikely to move.
The 24-year-old is midway through a season-long loan at Real Jaen and his form – 10 goals in all competitions so far – apparently has caught the eye of both Barca and Madrid’s subsidiary unit.
AS, however, say that any move in January for the player, whose full name is Jonathan Mejia, would need both Granada and Jaen to agree to it and that his Andalucian owners do not want to sell him.
It is understood that Granada’s intention is to return him to their senior squad next summer for a run in the team for 2014-15.
