Portugal defender Ricardo Costa believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the best in the world, not Cristiano Ronaldo.
The race for the Ballon d’Or hotted up on Saturday as the two forwards netted hat-tricks for Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, respectively.
But the Selecao centre-back has claimed that Zlatan is current the outstanding forward in world football.
“For me, Ibrahimovic is the best striker in the world,” he told Efe. “He’s very physical and great technically.
“Zlatan’s the complete player – so versatile.”
Portugal play Sweden in a World Cup play-off match later this month, with the winner qualifying for the tournament in Brazil next summer.
“We can’t just be focused on him,” Costa went on. “They have other players who can cause us problems, especially from set-pieces.”
