Arrasate: Madrid a great team

Jagoba Arrasate has dismissed the suggestion Real Madrid are in crisis, but says Real Sociedad have the conditions to play the ‘perfect match’ against them.

Los Blancos host La Real this Saturday evening in Week 13 of La Liga still under scrutiny for their early work under Carlo Ancelotti.

However, for the Italian’s counter-part this weekend, there is respect for Madrid’s strength.

“I’ve focused a lot on their last two games at home, crushing Malaga when they could have scored more and then in them putting seven past Sevilla,” Arrasate considered to reporters.

“They are a great team, with the best players in the world, they are unstoppable in attack, something which they have proven already.

“Will we defend or attack Madrid? Both. La Real have what is required to play a perfect match.

“Having the ball, knowing when to guard more and to attack, but then maintaining balance and not losing the ball when pushing forward, because on the counter-attack they are very dangerous.

“We will change some players [from midweek against Manchester United], as we have done in recent games, but the idea and the way we play will be the same, as we have been working and doing so far.

“It is going to be different to the game against Manchester United. Madrid are also a physical team, but do not defend as strongly as United, but they also have more in attack than Manchester.

“Is the key in taking possession? Yes, and that we were not good against Manchester United because their pressure was suffocating.

“Madrid do not, they let you play more and we must use that, but also take care to be defending and avoiding them counter-attacking and winning 3-0.

“It’s another game against a great team, we are helped with having played on the Tuesday night, but we have to go out there well and see if we can be better than them on the ball.”
