Marcelino Garcia Toral believes that Villarreal’s last-minute win at Elche on Monday night was deserved.
The Yellow Submarine ran out 1-0 winners in Week 12’s closing fixture thanks to Ikechukwu Uche’s last-gasp finish in the 90th minute.
“Uche’s goal in the last minute was justice for the scoreline,” Marcelino stated post-match.
“It was very important to return to the good dynamic away from home. The Getafe defeat was a setback, but it did not bother me. I think that against Elche we recovered our competitiveness, we went for the game, created chances and defensively recovered.
“Uche? What he has is a rare issue, there is a love-hate relationship with the fans, even as he always performs well.”
