Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has conceded that he is ‘very pleased’ to have extended with the capital club.
The Uruguay international penned a new deal at Vicente Calderon, tying himself to the Rojiblancos until 2018.
“I am happy and very pleased to continue with this club,” he told their official website.
“We are a group – strong and solid with great togetherness, hard working and solidarity.
“I think this is not achieved so easily. It's a club that is showing seriousness, wanting to continue with this project, both with all the guys who are renewing and with the coach, who was the first to take the initiative and extend.
“And I think this is good for everyone, especially for the club.”
