Valencia evaluating Djukic

Valencia are reportedly considering Miroslav Djukic’s position as Coach after a third consecutive defeat in La Liga.

Los Che fell to a surprise 2-1 reverse at home to lowly Almeria on Wednesday night, to give the visitors their first win of the season and heap the pressure on Djukic.

Whilst President Amadeo Salvo has previously been vocal in his support of the Serb, commenting that regardless, he will stay in charge until the end of the season, he is seen as now considering the 47-year-old’s position.

Superdeporte believe that Salvo’s presence in China to meet with real estate firm Dalian Wanda over prospects relating to Nou Mestalla has delayed activity relating to Djukic.

However, it is otherwise understood by the publication that Salvo’s direct contact back in Valencia, director general Luis Cervera met with sporting director Braulio Vazquez after yesterday’s defeat to start considering the situation and that during Thursday talks will continue.

Whilst Djukic held training this morning, it is seen that there is a real possibility he will not be in charge come Sunday’s visit to Getafe.

Valencia, who have lost six League games already this season, have imposed a media silence that will only be broken by the Coach’s usual pre-match address the day before the trip out to Madrid.

Marca, meanwhile, report that Braulio’s position as sporting director is more at risk than Djukic’s.
