Celta Vigo have been handed promise with initial tests indicating that full-back Jon Aurtenetxe has not suffered a fractured leg.
The defender had to be withdrawn 10 minutes into the second half of Celta’s 3-0 defeat at home to Barcelona on Tuesday evening and it appeared that he had suffered serious injury.
With the initial fear that the on-loan Athletic Bilbao man had sustained a fracture to the fibula in his right leg, the player underwent an X-ray the same evening.
However, the club have reported back that those showed no sign of fracture to the bone, but the player now faces further tests on Wednesday to ascertain the exact damage to his leg.
