Miroslav Djukic says Valencia are yet to find the ‘key’ to a ‘fluent attack and solid defence’ but that he is confident of doing so and feels supported.
The Serb has endured an up and down start to life back at Mestalla as Coach, with back-to-back defeats returning Los Che in recent days to a state of crisis.
“We have not yet found the appropriate combination with the team so as to play like we have intended, we need time for this to arrive, we are not doing things right in attack or defence,” Djukic considered to reporters today.
“We cannot concede so many goals, we must cut short this drain of goals and from there go looking for the game.
“We must look to the games that we have influenced, where we have been competitive and that we have kept a clean sheet in.
“There are adjustments and things to get used to and these take time, they are not easy. We must try to find the key to fluency in attack and a solid defence.
“In many places I have found that combination, why can I not do so again here? This team has enough quality, spirit and everything to reverse this situation and maintain it.”
Djukic met with club President Amadeo Salvo and sporting director Braulio Vazquez earlier this week to discuss the current situation. Salvo has previously been quoted as saying Djukic will stay with the club to the end of the season no matter what.
“The President has the best intention in the world and certainly has given me that message to continue until June, but I as a professional feel bad about myself when we lose a game. I do not like going out because I do not know what to tell people, I feel bad with myself.
“As a professional I want to win games and when I do not, I do not feel good, because I want my Valencia to win and to work well, then we are all happy.
“The President’s visit is always important, he was with us. The content of the meeting the other day is between us, but he has been with us and it is important that he is in good times and bad.”
