Enrique hopes for Barca off day

Luis Enrique admits that his Celta Vigo must be at their best and see Tuesday’s opponents Barcelona have an off-day, if they are to achieve a result.

The Galicians play host to the Catalans this midweek for Week 11’s round of fixtures with confidence renewed after a 5-0 win at the weekend against Malaga.

Even so, Celta’s Coach is wary of the challenge tomorrow, which pits him against his former employers.

“It will certainly be a special match, for my past with Barcelona. It will be the first time that I will come up against Barca and it will be different,” mused Enrique to reporters today.

“To have a chance of winning, they will have to have a bad day and we will have to present the best version of ourselves.

“How will we play? A game can be won in many ways. I would like to have more of the ball than Barca, but it will be difficult.

“Will I make changes after the Malaga win? After a game as good as that it is hard to make changes, but in an abnormal week such as this, it is normal.

“For us, this is a nice challenge, to face one of the best teams in the world.

“I won’t sign now for a draw, though. It may prove to be a great result, but we are facing this game with the mentality of winning. The opponent is very powerful, but football is a sport that may surprise you.”
