Jese Rodriguez insisted that Real Madrid deserved ‘a blatant penalty’ as they lost 2-1 to Barcelona.

The young forward scored his first goal for Los Blanco at Camp Nou on Saturday, but the striker was more concerned with Javier Mascherano’s push on Cristiano Ronaldo in the second half.

“It was a blatant penalty on Cristiano Ronaldo, I was right on the touchline warming up and I saw it clearly,” he told the club’s official website.

“If he had controlled it he would have been open. Refereeing is extremely difficult but there are things that are easy to see.

“We went after the game in the second half and that’s what I’m focusing on. I debuted in the Camp Nou, but what matters is the team and that we didn’t pick up points.

“Barcelona is a great side, though I’ve seen them play better, and there’s still a lot of Liga to play. We have to keep fighting, winning and we’ll see what happens.

“It depends on us and hopefully we’ll keep adding points and improving.

“I think we’ve been doing well, we have to make it tough for Ancelotti. We all want to play more and the coach has a difficult job, since we have the best players in the world. I have to train well and the coach has our full support.”
