Pique pushes for perspective

Gerard Pique commented on how Barcelona ‘may have lost perspective’ if they are feeling disappointed with a draw away to Milan.

La Blaugrana saw Lionel Messi cancel out Robinho’s opener during the first half of this Champions League Group H meeting, before Barca were frustrated with a majority of the ball but few clear sights of goal.

For the final 1-1 result, Pique pushed that he and his teammates don’t lose sight of the bigger picture.

“We’re leaving with a good feeling. I think in the end we lost a bit of perspective, we came to San Siro and to think we were going to win 0-3 or 0-4…” mused the centre-back afterwards.

“Perhaps after winning so much over the years, not winning in San Siro seems like a bad result. We’re the leaders of the league and of our Champions League group.”

Next up for Barca is the Clasico at home to Real Madrid.

“The Clasico is a different kind of match and even more so this year because the title has been between the two teams over the last couple of seasons.

“It can mark a turning point in the season. If we win, we’ll be six points clear.”
