Djukic: Titles over Champions League

Miroslav Djukic says that Valencia should aspire to win a title this season, over and above qualifying for the Champions League.

Los Che are one of the candidates to push to the end of the season for fourth spot in La Liga, but according to their Coach should not brush aside Europa League and Copa del Rey participation.

“We have to live with the pressure, Valencia should always look to win titles, we have to be demanding, we have the team to win things,” Djukic commented to reporters today.

“A title is worth more than finishing second or fourth. To win a title means that you have finished first.

“The most important thing is to win titles, even if second place in La Liga brings Champions League football.”

Djukic was talking ahead of Los Che’s Europa League clash at home to St Gallen.

“In the dressing room we know the difficulty of the game against St Gallen. They are a team that presses well and that are very intense.

“They play direct, good football and against Swansea deserved to win. It is hard to win against anyone. We know the difficulties that await us, the game against Villarreal at the weekend can wait.

“The squad is going to get better. We are in a normal process, with a new Coach and that are intending to play in the manner that I am after.

“We never know what the score will be but there will be ups and downs. And that has been the case. We want to prolong the moments in which we play well. This is a process that cannot be achieved today for tomorrow.”
