Marcelino Garcia Toral admitted that his Villarreal side deservedly fell to defeat at Athletic Bilbao on Monday night.
Week 9 saw the Yellow Submarine hit with a quick-fire first-half double from Mikel Rico and Aritz Aduriz to determine the result 2-0, before Bruno was shown a second yellow card on the stroke of half-time.
“We are sad because we arrived here at this scenario with much optimism and we have not played a good game,” began Marcelino to reporters afterwards.
“It has been one of the worst since I have been here. I believe it has been a bad day overall. Today, we lost fairly.
“We had no luck in two minutes to concede the goals, whilst the red card for Bruno has left the game as over.”
