Two from Cesc, Iniesta, Xavi

Tata Martino is understood to face a quandary in his Barcelona midfield ahead of facing Milan tonight and Real Madrid at the weekend.

It is understood that Alexis Sanchez is the favoured third forward to start in attack alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi at San Siro for the third matchday of the Champions League group phase.

Subsequently, it apparently leaves Martino with deciding between Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas for two midfield positions alongside pivot Sergio Busquets.

Mundo Deportivo suggest that a compromise will come with Madrid on the horizon, with Fabregas perhaps preferred to start with Iniesta in Italy, and then Xavi to come in for Fabregas to face Los Blancos.

Sport, meanwhile, report Xavi and Iniesta as likely to be the midfield three to face the Rossoneri, with Fabregas pushed to the bench.

Gerard Pique is set to return to the starting line-up tonight in place of Carles Puyol, and will be partnered by Javier Mascherano.

Meanwhile, Mario Balotelli has made Milan’s squad but is seen as unlikely to make the starting line-up, but former Real Madrid man Ricky Kaka is expected to lead the line.

Probable line-ups

Milan: Amelia; Abate, Mexes, Zapata, Constant; Montolivo, De Jong, Muntari; Birsa, Robinho, Kaka

Barcelona: Valdes; Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Adriano; Fabregas, Busquets, Iniesta; Alexis, Messi, Neymar
