‘Barca have learned from last year’

Alexis Sanchez has made clear that Barcelona are ready to face Milan having ‘learned from last year’s experience’.

La Blaugrana were frustrated in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League last term and hit twice at the other end for a 2-0 defeat.

“We learned from last year's experience,” considered Alexis to reporters in the pre-match conference.

“Milan has always shown great heart, it is important to play 90 minutes with great concentration.

“They have great players. Last year they showed that and I love coming to play in Italy again.”

Speculation is that Alexis is Tata Martino’s preferred option in attack for tonight alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar.

“I have always felt the same. Eager to prove myself in each game. The mentality that I have had since the beginning, playing at 100 per cent, has brought the goal. That is what has changed.

“And I always give my 100 per cent. In Barca there are so many good players, I am ready to play but I do not feel a starter because there is Tello, Pedro…

“The criticisms give me more strength. Now I am in a place that I do not want to leave. Playing with Neymar gives me happiness and confidence.”
