Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s agent has denied reports linking the Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper with a move to Barcelona next season.
“It’s all pure speculation because there are two or three good teams interested in him.
“This is well known by Borussia and therefore we are involved in negotiations to extend his contract at Gladbach,” Gerd vom Bruch told assembled reporters in Germany.
Ter Stegen has been a permanent fixture in the Bundesliga side’s first team since 2011 and has been constantly watched by a number of Europe’s top clubs, although his name has been linked with Barcelona since Victor Valdes announced he was leaving the Catalans at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old’s contract at the Stadion im Borussia-Park runs out in 2015 and a possible extension to it would mean Borussia demanding a larger transfer fee in the event the player moved on.
