Real Madrid eye Porto striker

A report in Marca claims Real Madrid are weighing up a possible bid for Porto striker Jackson Martinez at the end of the season.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti is understood to have ruled out the signing of a centre-forward in the January transfer window but has added Martinez to a list that includes Radamel Falcao, Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski.

The newspaper asserts that there has already been contact between the clubs for the 27-year-old, who was signed from Mexican outfit Jaguares de Chiapas for €8.8m at the start of the 2012-13 campaign and went on to score 26 League goals in 30 games.

The Colombian international has continued his impressive form this term, with seven goals in seven appearances, and also netted against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

However, Madrid could face competition for his signature from former boss Jose Mourinho, while there has also been interest shown from Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Even so, Porto have insisted that a deal will only be allowed to happen if a club was prepared to meet the €40m buy-out clause in the player’s contract.
