Barca track Inter stopper

Barcelona are ‘tracking’ Inter goalkeeper Francesco Bardi, according to his agent, although the Italian giants do not want to sell him.

The Italy Under-21 international is currently on loan at former club Livorno, where he also spent the 2011-12 season, having played last term on a similar arrangement with Novara.

“Yes, I can confirm Barcelona are tracking him,” Bardi’s agent Vincenzo Rispoli told Calciomercato.it.

“There are observers from many European clubs following him and I too heard, through unofficial channels, that Barcelona were interested.

“I have not had any formal contact with the Catalan club, as the player is under contract with Inter and I always respect those roles. If Barcelona do want Bardi they will have to discuss it with the Nerazzurri first.

“Francesco is relaxed, happy to be playing for Livorno and to be an Inter player. These rumours are certainly gratifying and I’d be a hypocrite to suggest otherwise, but I think Livorno and Inter appreciate them too.

“After all, it means Bardi is a goalkeeper of great quality, without forgetting he is only 21 years old.”

The agent also spoke to TMW and indicated Inter have no intention of selling the youngster.

“Inter have already proved they believe in his qualities by the fact they didn’t even want to sell half his contract to Livorno during the loan negotiations,” argued Rispoli.
