Karim Benzema says that he has ‘got the Real Madrid fans’ message’ and that he respects and understands their frustration.
Amid an unsteady start to the season for the team, Benzema has drawn particular criticism from sections of the Santiago Bernabeu support, who have whistled him for missed chances in recent games.
“I have got the message from the fans,” Benzema reflected after Madrid’s 4-0 Champions League win over Copenhagen on Wednesday night.
“I respect their opinion. I have felt comfortable in the field. Ancelotti has told me that I have to enjoy myself in the field so as to perform well.
“Our fans are very demanding with us, but I understand them. We have to keep working and improving so that we can achieve our objectives.
“Physically I am fine.”
