Cristian Rodriguez reflected on Atletico Madrid’s win at Porto as ‘a really great victory’, which has ended a five-year unbeaten run.
Atleti are the first visiting team since October 2008 to win at Estadio do Dragao, thanks to Tuesday’s Champions League comeback inspired by Diego Godin and Arda Turan’s goals.
“Without doubt, winning at Porto is a really great victory,” reflected former Porto man Rodriguez post-match on the 2-1 win for his Atleti.
“They are a great team and they have won a lot of titles. I am really pleased with the work of all my teammates. It is a very happy night.
“In the first half it was tough as Porto pressed us hard. In the second half it was a lot better. It is true that this will always be a second home for me.
“I was here for four years and lucky enough to experience some great moments, winning a lot of titles. I still have a lot of friends here.”
