Luis Enrique: Boring game

Luis Enrique complained of the lack of ‘inspiration’ from Celta Vigo in a ‘boring’ game decided by two corners for Getafe.

The Galicians fell to a 2-0 defeat at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Thursday night, thanks to goals conceded either side of half-time from corner kicks.

“It was a pretty boring game even for a Coach and was decided on two strategic moves,” mused Enrique post-match.

“With regard to two very good corners from Pedro Leon, it is clear that we have not mastered that aspect of the game and it has cost us the result. Thereafter, Getafe and the ball. We lacked audacity.

“I expected a little more, but this is how the game went. The opponent has played, they have their qualities and I have no objection.

“Their goals came in key minutes and in a game where we were not inspired.”

Enrique was asked of his changes made to the team.

“When a Coach decides, it is for a reason. These are not random changes. I believe in this project that we will move forward together, not just as 11 players.

“I’m convinced that that is the case and I will do it again. But I expect another level. If it is permitted, we’ll see.”
