Djukic: Rami case closed

Miroslav Djukic admitted that Valencia were hit by Adil Rami’s removal from the squad, but has asked that focus moves on.

The Serb opted to send the Frenchman home the night before Los Che’s Week 6 fixture with Granada after his criticism of the club on radio.

Rami is believed suspended without pay and, whilst a final sanction is apparently yet to be determined, the Coach has looked to draw a line under the case.

“[Tuesday] night was tough, it was not easy for any of us,” Djukic considered after Valencia’s eventual last-gasp win yesterday.

“But, we made a quick decision for the good of the team and the club, and the team reacted well by showing unity and with a victory with which we are all reinforced.

“The matter with Rami is closed, it is in the hands of the club. [His replacement] Victor Ruiz has played a great game, the rest now is up to the club.

“It does not depend on anything from me, I’ve done what I had to do in the moment that it affected us.”
