Juanfran Torres says that Atletico Madrid are keen to continue their winning start to the season in Saturday’s derby with Real Madrid.
Atleti make the trip across town to the Santiago Bernabeu in Week 7 having won their first six matches of the season.
The game will also be a first meeting between the sides since last season’s Copa del Rey Final that Atleti won.
“We’re looking forward to it,” considered Juanfran after Los Colchoneros’ 2-1 home win over Osasuna on Tuesday night.
“The last time we were there we won so let's go for it. It’s a very important game for our fans and for us.
“The good thing is the dynamics of the team, which is all about winning.
“We go in to every game with the thought that we will always win and that is leading us in the right direction.”
The full-back also reflected on the team’s close win against struggling Osasuna this midweek, settled by two goals from Diego Costa.
“We deserved more. We've been a bit conservative and have had many chances.
“Diego Costa gives us many things. He gives us a lot of strength, a lot of momentum. He's a very important player, one of the most important in the team and hopefully he continues this streak to end the season.”
