Jose Antonio Iniesta believes that his son Andres Iniesta will commit to a new contract at Barcelona eventually.
Reports are focusing at the moment on stalled negotiations between the midfielder and his club, with it believed that a first offer has been turned down.
Whilst reports have since indicated Barca’s resolve to conclude talks successfully by the end of the calendar year, the player’s father has asserted his belief that Iniesta is not looking to leave.
“Those who know Andres, who has spent 18 years at Barcelona and is now 29, will not doubt his words,” Iniesta Snr told La Xarxa this week.
“Andres is still important for Barca’s style of play.
“The subject of Andres’ issues is led by his agent Ramon Sostres. So, whatever I say about the news that has come out would not be telling the truth.”
