Ramos: Hopefully Iker is back soon

Sergio Ramos explained his collision with Iker Casillas that put the goalkeeper out of Real Madrid’s win at Galatasaray.

Madrid ran out 6-1 winners in Turkey on Tuesday evening, but not after Casillas saw a first start in months for the club ended after 15 minutes, having collided with teammates Ramos in collecting a cross.

“It was a collision because I did not see if [Didier] Drogba was behind, we lacked some communication and in jumping I had the misfortune of colliding with Iker,” explained Ramos afterwards.

“These are things in the game and it is important that it is nothing serious. Hopefully he will be back with us as soon as possible.

“If he said anything then it is something that I did not hear.”

The defender acknowledged that the result gained was significant.

“It was a great victory in a stadium that is always tricky. The Champions League is different. I am very happy with the result and the team’s performance.”
