Florentino Perez has heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo after the attacker signed a contract extension at the club.
The Portuguese superstar penned a new deal at Santiago Bernabeu this morning, keeping him in the capital until 2018.
“Today is a great day for the club because we have realised the desire of all Madridistas,” the President told a Press conference.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will remain with Real Madrid for the next five years. Fans around the world have called for this and that is what we are here to announce.
“Four years ago, the stadium was full and there was a party. We have never had a welcome like that before. With maximum effort, constant sacrifice and unbelievable talent means Cristiano has won the hearts of all the fans.
“And with his figures – 204 goals in 203 games. There is no precedent for such spectacular numbers.
“Today is a great day for Real Madrid. The best player in the world knows that this is his home.”
