Villarreal boss Marcelino was proud of his players after they claimed a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid on Saturday.
A late Giovani Dos Santos goal ensured the Yellow Submarine went away with a share of the points, and the Coach was delighted with his men.
“I want to thank all the players,” he told a Press conference. “They put in some tremendous work. For a lot of the time we were superior to them.
“It was a shame not to get the win that would have been fully deserved. A match against Real Madrid is hard from start to finish, but we have been very good here.
“If we had been a bit more successful in front of goal and had not found a goalkeeper in great form, then we could have won.
“Regardless of the outcome though, I am very satisfied with what I’ve seen from my team.”
