Juanfran Torres reportedly turned down an offer from Arsenal to quadruple his salary, in favour of renewing at Atletico Madrid.
The converted full-back this week was confirmed by his club as having put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension, committing him to the Vicente Calderon until June 2017.
On from this, AS are today running the line that the 28-year-old made the commitment in spite of a tempting offer during the summer transfer window from Arsenal.
It is believed that the Premier League side came in for the right-sided player and tabled a contract with a salary level four times the amount he was on with Atleti.
However, Juanfran is understood to have turned down the offer out of preference to continuing his work in the Spanish capital.
