Roberto Carlos has responded to Joan Capdevila’s suggestion that Jordi Alba will surpass him.
The former Espanyol defender claimed on Sunday that the Barcelona full-back is on his way to being better than the ex-Real Madrid man.
And the Brazil international, who won four Liga titles and three Champions Leagues during his time at Santiago Bernabeu, has admitted that the 24-year-old is the best in the world in his position.
“Along with Marcelo, Alba’s the best left back,” he told Marca.
“His explosive pace makes him important in both defence and attack.
“He’s also a proven goalscorer.”
