Mesut Ozil has once more indicated that a lack of confidence at Real Madrid saw him accept a move to Arsenal this week.
The 24-year-old completed a deadline day transfer from Los Blancos to the Premier League side for an initial €45m fee.
On from yesterday explaining his motives for accepting the deal, the playmaker has reiterated today how Arsenal’s manager helped convince him also.
“After a long telephone conversation with Arsene Wenger, I realised what I was really missing – 100 per cent confidence,” Ozil told today’s edition of Bild.
“Does this move represent a continuation, regression or improvement? Clearly, an improvement. I have never fled and I will never abandon.
“My father and I have made this decision alone.”
