Reports are growing that Mesut Ozil’s move from Real Madrid to Arsenal will be confirmed in the next hour or so.
The Premier League outfit were reported last night as having come in with an initial offer of €45m for the 24-year-old, with a further €5m on top of that in add-ons.
Whilst the player was believed reluctant to open talks, leading to mixed reports about whether or not he had entered into talks, speculation has grown that he has accepted the Gunners’ proposal.
The playmaker is believed to have undergone a medical in Munich, where he is currently with the German national team, and the latest indications are that the deal could be confirmed as early as 6pm UK time.
Ozil, who has spent three seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, is seen as in line for a €2m payrise to increase his salary to €7m, with it believed that he will be handed the No 11 shirt at the North London outfit.
Arsenal forward and international teammate Lukas Podolski has further fuelled speculation by re-tweeting through his official Twitter account several postings by fans mentioning the deal.
