Cuenca to remain with Barca

Barcelona youngster Isaac Cuenca has been told he has a place in Tata Martino’s squad for the 2013-14 campaign.

The 22-year-old winger is currently sidelined with a knee injury suffered whilst on loan at Ajax during the latter part of last season, having made just three appearances for the Dutch giants.

However, reports in Spain have confirmed Cuenca will remain at the Camp Nou after being the subject of interest from several clubs over the summer, including Red Bull Saltzburg and Cardiff City, with his return to action pencilled in for October.

A Spanish Under-21 international, Cuenca made his Barca debut under Pep Guardiola in October 2011 and has a contract with the Catalans until June 2015.
