Ronaldo to cost Madrid €35m a year

Cristiano Ronaldo will cost Real Madrid €35.3m per season when he signs his new contract at the club, according to reports.

Cinco Dias have claimed that the Portugal international, who is set to pen an extension at Santiago Bernabeu later this month, will now not come under the ‘Beckham Law’.

Legislation was put in place last decade to try and entice foreign stars to La Liga by offering clubs 24.75 per cent tax on wages.

However, the goalscorer will have been a tax resident in Spain for six years and will therefore cost Los Blancos €18.3m from 2015.
